Yellow Squash Pie

If you have ever grown squash you know that when you put the seeds in the ground you can hardly wait. And by the time the end of the season you are looking for any and every way to get rid of them and every conceivable recipe to possibly put them in. While surfing the web several years ago I came across this recipe on Cooks.com.

And the finished result has a flavor reminiscent of pumpkin pie with a lighter milder flavor

Yum yum!!

never mind the finger print I stuck my finger in it on accident.

Making something ugly into something pretty, Glade can and Kleenex box

So  was doing some crafting the other day and had some left over paper. What to do with this extra paper I ask myself. So I started looking around. My original craft was turning old tin cans into makeup brush organizers. Which turned out quite well in my opinion.

I don't know about you but I hate the look of an ugly Kleenex box and Glade cans. So with my trusty can of spray paint and left over scrapbook paper I set to work.

What do you think? Pretty?

For the Glade can I popped the top off and painted it, peeled the wrapper and replaced it with scrap book paper. I used double stick tape to secure.

For the tissue box I removed the plastic, but of course. This is the tricky part in my opinion. I didn't want paint on the plastic on the top of the box so I cut several smaller pieces of plain paper and inserted them under the lip of the box to protect the clear plastic. You'll want to use a small piece tape to insure the spray paint doesn't "blow" the paper up. Spray paint your box, let dry and then decorate. I used paper cut into 4"x5" rectangles.

I think these would be lovely for weddings. You could decorate them in your wedding colors and place them in the pews for the ceremony. In fact I think I'll do that someday when I'm fortunate enough to get married.

Hope you enjoyed.
